Inventors of a Bulgarian lager claim their beer has been brewed specifically to make women’s breasts grow bigger.

Bohza beer was originally developed as a health drink to help new mothers who have trouble breast feeding, the Austrian Times reports. It was unclear how the beer, fermented with wheat flour and yeast, helped the women breast feed.

Women, however, are now flocking to brewers Yavor-M in Ruse after female drinkers started to see their breasts grow one to two cup sizes.

Brewery spokesman Kristian Gyoshev said the company makes no special claims, but after hundreds of testimonials of eye-popping results explained drinking the lager is “cheaper than any surgery.”

A 24-year-old Lebanese immigrant has been crowned Miss U.S.A.

Rima Fakih, from Dearborn, Michigan, is believed to be the first Muslim to win the pageant despite nearly stumbling over in her evening gown last night.

Born in Lebanon, she emigrated with her parents to the U.S. as a baby. They moved to Michigan in 2003, where she was later crowned Miss Michigan.

Miss Fakih competed against 50 others in the swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions. She nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train – but managed to recover.

Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was first runner-up after handling a question about Arizona’s strict new immigration law. She said she supports it.

Some would think that “Miss USA,” be her Black, Brown, White, etc., would first and foremost have to be American. Guess not…

Not to mention that her victory was already becoming tarnished last night by revelations that she won a pole dancing contest at a strip club in Detroit in 2007.

“This is a sea change in government privacy policy,” said Michael Macleod-Ball, Acting Director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. “Without explaining this reversal of policy, the OMB is seeking to allow the mass collection of personal information of every user of a federal government website.

(CNN) — Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. CNN has not confirmed his death.

A Los Angeles fire official told CNN that paramedics arrived at Michael Jackson’s home after a 911 call.

Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN.

Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles Thursday morning.

Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m.

Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.

Asked specifics of the patient’s condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws.
The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the “King of Pop.”

Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.
At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

In a move that sparked fierce debate, a group of parliamentarians called for an inquiry into the wearing of the head-to-toe Islamic veil in France and whether Muslim women who cover themselves completely in public constitute an assault on French secularism and women’s rights.

In a call that won support from senior figures in Mr Sarkozy’s government, they demanded that a parliamentary commission consider the fate in France of the burka, where the eyes are covered by a fabric mesh, and the niqab, which has an eye slit.

While France’s Muslim Council said the proposal “stigmatised” Islam, a commission is now expected to be established on the urging of the group of 65 politicians led by André Gerin, a Communist MP. Many of the 65 MPs are members of Mr Sarkozy’s Right-wing UMP party.

Mr Gerin is also mayor of the southern city of Venissieux, which has a high immigrant population and where he complains women cover themselves in “mobile prisons”.

“Our politicians need to stop acting so blind,” he said, describing the burka as the mark of Islamic fundamentalism not is tune with secular France.

Luc Chatel, a government spokesman, said that all the options were open, including a ban. “If it were determined that wearing the burka is a submissive act, and that it is contrary to republican principles, well naturally parliament would have to drawn the necessary conclusions,” he said.

If that meant introducing new legislation, he said, “why not”.

The proposal won the support of Fadela Amara, the urban affairs minister and a women’s rights campaigner whose parents were Muslims. “We must do everything to stop burkas from spreading, in the name of democracy, of the republic, of respect for women,” she said, describing the garment as “a kind of tomb for women”.

However, Eric Besson, the immigration minister, said that France – home to five million Muslims – had already managed to “strike a balance” between secularism and religious freedoms that it would be “dangerous” to call into question.

In 2004, the country passed a controversial law forbidding any conspicuous religion symbols from state schools, including veils, which are banned in government offices.

Mr Besson said that people must feel free to wear what they like in France without fear.

Martine Aubry, the head of the Socialist party, warned against “simplistic” responses. “If a law bans the burka, these women will still have [it] but will remain at home; they will no longer be seen,” she said.

Dalil Boubakeur, the rector of the Paris Mosque, said he approved of a commission “on condition that they listen to what the experts on Islam have to say”.

Although he linked the burka to fundamentalists, he said many women chose to wear it to assert their Muslim identity in a society they feel is hostile to any type of Islamic headscarf.

Mr Sarkozy promised to address the question in a speech to parliament on Monday.

Lauren took the brave step this afternoon when she was passing a roadside stand supporting Len Heather, BNP candidate in the Noak Bridge ward by-election being held in Basildon, Essex.

The 42-year-old also revealed her only concern was whether it was “natural” to take a child out of its natural environment.

Joely whose mother is actress Vanessa Redgrave, has always been intensely private when it comes to her own daughter Daisy, from her marriage to film producer Tim Bevan who she divorced in 2001.

“Idiots like the So Solid Crew are glorifying gun culture and violence,” the minister claimed. “It is something new. I heard very interesting comments about [violence] in Victorian times and thugs on the street. But they didn’t have these methods of popularising this stuff. It is very worrying and we ought to stand up and say it.”

Rappers who carry guns in their videos are “particularly sick”, he said.

Earlier, So Solid Crew were singled out for criticism by Metropolitan police assistant commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, who blamed a “backdrop of music” for alienating young men and encouraging them to use weapons as fashion statements.

But last night Conor McNicholas, editor of the music magazine NME, described the minister’s outburst as “deeply racist”.

“He doesn’t understand the culture. It is this idea again that we have to do something about these out-of-control black people in our streets and the nasty culture they are perpetuating,” he said.

“They are deeply racist sentiments. We have to be absolutely clear, the gun culture is a function of urban deprivation and not because of the music. The music reflects the experience of young people and doesn’t create it.

“There is more rap music listened to and bought by white kids in Swindon than there is by black kids in Hackney, and nobody is talking about the gun culture on the streets of white suburban Britain.”

Mr McNicholas said he was surprised that Mr Howells had chosen to roam so far from his brief, which mainly involves tourism. “He clearly doesn’t know what he is talking about. We have to recognise that these are young kids who are growing up in very difficult environments who happen to make music as a way of expressing themselves and their frustrations. Just because these guys are making music about the situation they are in does not mean they are perpetuating the culture. The music is not creating the problem.”

So Solid Crew, in common with many black musicians and promoters contacted by the Guardian yesterday, said they were sick of being tarred with the “drugs and violence” stereotype, and several refused to comment, claiming that debate only reinforced prejudice. Promoter Lance Lewis said it was nonsense to see rap as bloodthirsty and perverse. “No rapper condones killing, anyone who says that doesn’t know what they are talking about.”

A spokeswoman for So Solid Crew did say that the rise in gun violence had nothing to do with music. “It’s poverty and crime which are escalating. Cocaine addiction is escalating too. They are just reflecting what they see around them. Their music is reflecting society just as Robert de Niro reflected American gangster society in his film roles. They are out there trying to make a positive difference in British black culture.”

She pointed to the fact that Ms Dynamite, whom the police have praised for her stance against drug dealers and black- on-black violence, has defended the band, who played a key part in her own emergence.

Ms Dynamite has dismissed as “bullshit” the idea that the garage scene is inextricably linked with violence. “The media have blown it out of all proportion. Garage is a young London scene. That’s why people in power are afraid of us and try everything to shut us down,” she said. “There is violence wherever you go and the rave is a small part of it. It is a metaphor for life in general.”

She also refused to condemn So Solid’s Ashley Walters, aka Asher D, who was released from jail in October after an 18-month sentence for possessing a gun. Walters, a former child actor, had been the subject of several death threats before his arrest following an altercation with a traffic warden.

“I’m not one to judge, but he was naive,” Ms Dynamite said. “Anyone who thinks they can carry a gun in this country is in for a shock.”

Academic Ben Bowling, of King’s College, London, who is studying the effects of gun culture, claimed rap was hugely misunderstood.

“Not only Ms Dynamite but lots of other bands like De La Soul and Us Three sing out against violence and drug culture. Rap is a very wide church,” he said.

He believed it was unfortunate that Mr Howells’ comments had come at a time when “there is a movement on the street and in the music industry saying ‘no’ to violence”. The only way gun crime was going to stop, he said, was for communities themselves to reject it, as had happened in the United States.

Bouch believes some shops are continuing to sell illegal skin creams despite the risk of fines because demand for the products is so high. “The only thing I can say is that it is demand-led. Shop owners are making a great profit from it,” Bouch says.
Cosmetics industry analysts say cosmetics companies are realizing there’s money to be made here. They argue minority communities are an underserved market with a long tradition of buying bleaching products — legal or otherwise.
