In an excruciatingly embarrassing exchange with MSNBC anchors, Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson asked “What is Aleppo?” when discussing the Syrian refugee crisis. Video of the interview has gone viral with critics saying Johnson is done and must now drop out of the race to save face.
Johnson looked absolutely stumped when asked “What would you do about Aleppo?” by Panelist Mike Barnicle.
“You’re kidding,” replied Barnicle after Johnson asked him to explain what Aleppo is.
“OK, got it got” a clearly crushed Johnson said after Barnicle explained that it is the epicenter of the Syrian refugee crisis.
Johnson later attempted some pathetic damage control, stating “I do understand Aleppo, and I understand the crisis that is going on.”
“This morning, I began my day by setting aside any doubt that I’m human. Yes, I understand the dynamics of the Syrian conflict — I talk about them every day,” Johnson said in a statement. “But hit with ‘What about Aleppo?’ I immediately was thinking about an acronym, not the Syrian conflict. I blanked. It happens, and it will happen again during the course of this campaign.”
“I feel horrible,” Johnson told Mark Halperin of Bloomberg Politics. “I have to get smarter, and that’s just part of the process.”
But it is too late. For a third tier Presidential candidate asking to be involved in debates on foreign policy, this is fatal.
Hillary Clinton addressed Johnson’s mess up in her latest ‘press conference’, saying “Well, you can look at the map and find Aleppo.”
Aleppo has been trending all day on Twitter, along with calls for Johnson to quit:
Johnson ended up on The View, and said that if people see his mishap as disqualifying “then so be it”.
Wow, strong defense there Gary.
Earlier this week Infowars warned that Johnson was not a viable Presidential contender:
Although he has zero chance of winning, Johnson could have taken enough votes away from Trump in key states to ensure a Hillary Clinton victory. The media is giving this clown a lot of time on air recently, hoping to steal as many votes from Trump as possible.
Gill Stein on the other hand is barely invited anywhere in the media because they are trying to protect their beloved evil witch Hillary Clinton and they don’t want to risk stealing votes away from Hillary and moving them to Gill Stein. After this is all over, if Trump wins, we truly believe that he should issue MASS ARRESTS and imprison those evil propaganda brainwashers in the media for life because they do not have the right to manipulate the public this way. It is not the role of the press to elect someone who they like and forcefully throw a candidate down your throats, through constant bashing of one candidate while praising the other.
Johnson, who calls himself an advocate of small government, also has highly questionable ‘libertarian’ principles.
He wants to give the government the power to forcibly inject your children at gunpoint if necessary.
He also wants to implement a massive government carbon taxing scheme enforced by a gigantic, onerous centralized bureaucracy,
He even wants to give the government the power to shut down bakeries that refuse to make gay wedding cakes, violating his own Libertarian Party’s platform.
Johnson has also pledged support to Black Lives Matter, a group whose public platform has all the specific hallmarks of marxism – the exact opposite of libertarianism.
Johnson supports the TPP, a globalist trade deal that even Hillary had to back away from. TPP is not just big government, it’s global government – on steroids.
As Governor of New Mexico, Johnson, the so-called fiscal libertarian, inherited a debt of $1.8 billion and left a debt of $4.6 billion.
None of these policies are libertarian.
Gary Johnson isn’t a libertarian – he’s a social justice warrior posing as a libertarian, He’s a phony, and now he should definitely quit.
Gary Johnson: I Thought Aleppo Was an Acronym
Gary Johnson thought Aleppo, the war-torn city in Syria, was an “acronym.”
“I was thinking in terms of acronym Aleppo,” he said about his screw-up on MSNBC during a later interview on The View.
But what the hell is the acronym Aleppo?
Only Johnson can make himself sound even stupider after revealing he was clueless about the city, which was Syria’s largest before it became the main battle zone of the civil war.
Interestingly, Johnson pointed out that the U.S. is supporting ISIS-linked Syrian rebels in a proxy war against the Assad government and that regime change “doesn’t work,” but when one of the hosts pointed out his views are similar to Trump’s, he stumbled.
That suggests his entire campaign, funded by the globalist Koch Bros., is only meant to be an anti-Trump spoiler to swing the election to Hillary.
It would also explain why Johnson is on The View in the first place as well as numerous other establishment programs unlike other Libertarian Party candidates in the past.
The mainstream media wouldn’t be giving favorable coverage to an supposed “anti-establishment” candidate like Johnson unless his campaign was helping the establishment, namely Hillary Clinton.
“Although he has zero chance of winning, Johnson could have taken enough votes away from Trump in key states to ensure a Hillary Clinton victory,” reported Steve Watson. “Johnson, who calls himself an advocate of small government, also has highly questionable ‘libertarian’ principles.”
