Ukraine's Military Prepares For War With Russia

submit to reddit

Did somebody say de-escalation?

Earlier today, photos were distributed showing the latest military convoy reinforcements heading into the Crimea, accompanies by a Police car demonstrating Moscow license plate numbers, most likely providing further support to the pro-Russian forces in the peninsula.

Supposedly the trucks are carrying troops to reinforces the members of the new Crimean army, pictured below:

While at the same time along the makeshift border between Crimea and the mainland, the Pro-Russian forces are putting down minefields.

However, the Ukrainians, having already been mobilized for over a week, finally appear set to seize back the offensive:

The first clip below captured the 80th Airborne Regiment out of Lviv moving out, direction mainland, preparing to repel foreign attack.

The next video shows what are allegedly Buk SAM batteries deployed in the Donetsk region, a city in Eastern Ukraine which in the past week has swayed between Ukraine and Russian authority.

The clip below shows the 95th Airborne brigade also moving out of their barracks in Zhytomyr in western Ukraine, heading East, with an impressive deployment of trucks and APCs.

2S19 “Msta-S” 152mm Howitzers on the move to Crimea.

Finally, 20 T-64 tanks preparing to depart in Bila Tserkva, a city in central Ukraine:

So where again are all those pundits who were so eager to explain away the Ukraine confrontation as one that will promptly be forgotten, and is by now most certainly priced in?

This letter is in response to the articles covering the civil unrest
    occurring in Ukraine.

As a citizen of and believer in democracy, I applaud the efforts of the Ukrainian people. Their efforts are similar to what is happening in many other parts of the world.

Believe it or not, one thing that trumps capitalism and political
correctness in the United States is the right to have one’s voice heard. This is the foundation of which our democracy is built on. The Ukrainian people should continue to defy Viktor Yanukovych’s powerful security forces so that Ukrainian democracy can begin to thrive. It is unfortunate that the United States compromised on one of its most fundamental values in order to protect its economic interests in Eastern Europe; something that happens all too often domestically as well. It is not the Ukrainian people that are attempting to seize power but rather it is those currently in power who have engaged in intimidation to prevent the will of the people from being heard. Why else would they stoop to such underhanded tactics to block various means of communication among the citizens of Ukraine? Why is the government in power utilizing such political strong-arm tactics as the use of violence?

Viktor Yanukovych, you have had four years to lead Ukraine and have failed them by your own choosing. The days of the despotic regime are finally coming to an end as it appears the desire for freedom will continue to sweep among the East European nations. Accordingly, let the call go forth among all citizens of Ukraine that your brothers and sisters of democracy from all over the world are with you during every trial and tribulation you may encounter during this crisis. To the people of Ukraine, the trumpet of freedom beckons you to rise in protest and ensure your voice to preserve your sacred heritage, promote your children’s future and obtain the blessings of liberty we all cherish.

Ukraine, the hour of your redemption is at hand. As you the rightful citizens move forward to reclaim your own country, rise and strike! In the name of those who were murdered fighting for everyone’s rights, rise and strike! To end the rule of this evil regime, rise and strike! Let no one continue to fear this man. Let every Ukrainian be strong and fight on for their freedom. Rise and strike!

Viktor Yanukovych, let the people go!

You are sure objective with a polish name like bialek, sorry but in that case the Russians are the good guys protecting their people and assets against a NATO and US led foreign coup.
Hipocrisy and double standards at its finest, Kosovo could secess from Serbia because they were an asset to the US. Crimea and ethnic Russian on the other hand cant do the same? Iraq?Syria?Afhganistan?Lybia, Somalia, the list goes on, millions died and for what? oil, heroin, and pipelines, and strategic positions, thats what you call democracy and freedom? No thanks!

I would be more worried about your own rights with the reinforced Patriot Act and the NDAA the US. Constitution and the Bill of rights has been suspended, you have no rights at the moment, endless wars, crippled economy, NSA wiretapping, police state, police brutality,TSA,VIPR teasms, checkpoints, the list goes on, at least dont lie to yourself.

    Dear Joe,

your hollywood movie references are totally inappropriate. Please listen to the Nuland phonecall rather than to war-glorifying movies. Only by that phonecall and without further references you can see that the USA set in all the new “leaders” of the Ukraine, NOONE has asked the people! Don’t talk about democracy, it’s a fool’s talk. Have you been to the Ukraine or Russia yourself? It’s more democracy than we have in the West (for example we here in Germany), because they care about their own people, the USA just care about a) NATO bases, b) stimulating their miserable economy by wars, c) spreading USA-opinion and USA-string puppets. THIS IS YOUR NEW “GOVERNMENT”, UKRAINE: https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1/1507130_476014975831899_1504020852_n.jpg

Just: Oh god why? Americans, please go home.
All the best to the Ukraine from Germany, may you free yourselves of that Nazi regime set in by Nuland.
