US Senate to Ban Hundreds of Semiautomatic Rifles, Handguns, Shotguns, Magazines

For anyone who may have thought Senator Feinstein and her colleagues in Congress were bluffing about coming firearms legislation that would restrict the sale, transfer and possession of certain firearms, think again.

A summary of the proposed legislation has been made available, and it’s a whopper.

Among outright banning 120 ‘assault’ related firearms (such as AR-15′s and AK-47′s), the bill will also target any weapon that utilizes a “detachable magazine,” as well as any magazine with a capacity of over ten rounds, which would include semi-automatic handguns and shotguns.

Moreover, if you already own a firearm or modification that ends up on the ban list, you will be required under Federal law to register that gun, complete with a background check, fingerprinting and local law enforcement verification.

Those who have recently purchased firearms that would fall under the ban may soon find Federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) at their door looking to confiscate ‘illegal’ weapons or engage in home searches for illegal accessories like ‘high capacity’ magazines (over 10 rounds), flash suppressors, pistol grips, and bullet buttons (a feature designed to circumvent ‘fixed’ magazine laws in states like California).

The following is a summary of the proposed Assault Weapons Legislation:

Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:

  • 120 specifically-named firearms
  • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
  • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds

Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:

  • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
  • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
  • Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
  • Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:

  • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
  • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
  • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons

Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:

  • Background check of owner and any transferee;
  • Type and serial number of the firearm;
  • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
  • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
  • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

What Is an Assault Rifle? (You’ve probably been lied to):

Ammunition, namely the purchase of bulk ammunition, has not been mentioned in the legislation summary. However, previous reports indicate that the purchase of large amounts of ammunition through the internet and directly from dealers may also be in Congress’ sights.

Are Americans prepared to give up their guns?

In Los Angeles, where millions of residents depend on government support to feed their families and receive healthcare, hundreds of cars lined up for hours for a local buy-back program that promised to exchange guns for $100 grocery gift cards.

Thousands of handguns, rifles, and antique firearms were turned in – for food.

The lock-down is coming and it’s going to start when Congress reconvenes on January 3, 2013.

Many Americans, who have no concept of why the Second Amendment exists in the first place, will accept it without protest.

This “law” will never be obeyed because it is unconstitutional. If the US Supreme Court doesn’t quickly overturn it, the people will nullify it by ignoring it.

If the 2nd Amendment didn’t exist, Americans would still have the inalienable right to keep and bear arms as a “natural right”.

What this government is doing is to reject its own constitution, and in doing so, they may be exposing individual Congressional representatives to lawsuits, because it is only the Constitution that protects them from legislative malpractice and violation of civil rights claims.

What these fascists WANT to do and what they actually CAN do are two totally different things.

I agree totally that they will NOT get their way on killing the Second Amendment.

We will fight them to THEIR last breath.

These scum are not going to dismantle the United States one piece at a time.

      Enough is enough.

If Fienstien introduces her bill she and everyone who has signed on to it should be arrested for TREASON AGAINST THE US CONSTITUTION, PERIOD!!!!

Read Obamas Executive orders *( starting March 2012).All of them are against US Constitution. He can also take money, water, electricity, food from american citizens. Do you remember last century (1933) everybody had to give gold and silver to government. Why do you think there are so many FEMA camps all over the USA? There is a plan called NWO. And it means one government, depopulation and only obedient ( slaves ) allowed to live. And at last but not least, look who is in reality overpowering your government. Zionists. Learn from Palestinians what they have been going through….

      • mbaker

Where in the world are you coming from? Executive orders are legal and can be done by a president as they have been done by presidents in the past, from both parties. And where are the FEMA camps. Even Beck declared there are no FEMA camps. Your comment is absolutely false, and if you don’t think so provide the facts to back up your comment.

        • jon

@mbaker: If you wish to, continue sleeping and dreaming about your Beck :)) . Here is only one link, I am sure (if you care ) you can find many of them as I did.

mbaker, your ignorance and stupidity is showing!!!

        • Matrix

Oh, really? They don’t exist? Why don’t you look up the tube episode of Jesse Ventura’s Conspiracy Theory where he went to
a FEMA camp and interviewed the staff there at the front door? I guess that didn’t happen, either. You are sadly misinformed my friend.

As far as executive orders being “legal,” they are NOT legal and are a totally unconstitutional method to railroad in fascist agendas used by the globalists when they cannot get the same so-called “laws” passed in Congress. They contravene the checks and balances built into the Constitution. Just because enemy agents have used them against us does not mean that they are legal.

When all the weapons in California have been swapped for food where do you suppose the weapons will come from when people get hungry again?

This isn’t a topic for public consumption. Keep your powder try.

If someone ask why Americans need semi-automatic weapons remind them the greatest threat to Americas freedom, Barack Obama, has tanks, attack helicopters and jets.

Executive Orders are binding only on government employees, and not binding on citizens. They are for administrative efficiency only and cannot be used to make “law”. EO’s that exceed the president’s authority can be ignored by federal employees as well as the public.

Some of the Executive Orders are probably lawful under the “Doctrine of Necessity”, where the courts have held that government can seize private property in an emergency if the seizure serves a public purpose. The 5th Amendment requires that the seized property or damages done to it be paid for by the government.

Executive Orders to seize people and direct their labor, however, are illegal under the 13th Amendment (Slavery), among other provisions, so those would be a nullity.

Voter retaliation for gun seizures should be directed to the people at the top of the political pyramid who authorized them, not the local police or national guard, who are citizens like everyone else, with the same concerns about the US federal tyranny as the rest of the world.

The US Senate should ban all the nut cases walking among us

Almost without exception, the deranged shooters have been Satanists. Devil worship should be primary evidence of mental illness sufficient to deny gun ownership.

Such a rule may eliminate half of Congress from gun ownership.

Observe that the guns the government wants to ban are the firearms that post the GREATEST THREAT TO THEM!!!! 0bama could give a SH!T about children in a school.. This is a crisis manufactured to strip law-abiding citizens of their ability to defend themselves against an increasingly TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT. A citizenry without guns is A CITIZENRY ENSLAVED TO THE GOVERNMENT.. Ask North Koreans what life there is like without guns: DYING OF STARVATION IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND YES IT IS HAPPENING STILL TO THIS DAY AND THE PEOPLE ARE POWERLESS TO STOP IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO FIREARMS.

The real source of federal power is that they are highly organized with a clear command structure and multiple lines of communications, something the citizens completely lack. The internet is such a threat to tyrants because it offers a chance to organize the citizens. That hasn’t happened yet, but if gun confiscation occurs, it will provide the incentive to form citizen resistance groups far stronger than they presently are. And the feds will infiltrate all of them, as usual.

Military weapons were intended by our 2nd Amendment to be owned by individual citizens, and not exclusively by the government according to federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court, articles written by the founders, letters from the Constitutional Convention, among other sources.

Senators and representatives who vote to limit 2nd Amendment rights are violating the law and deserve to be prosecuted. The only thing stopping that is the Constitutional provision that nothing they do in Congress shall be questioned elsewhere. Once they violate any provision of the Constitution by introducing an unconstitutional Bill, they should be barred from invoking that protection and be open to lawsuits for civil rights violations.

This isn rediculous. If they want to make public building safe simply put in metal decetors and secure doors not take away our rights to bare arms. My guns will stay with me.

If this gun ban becomes Law, Congress will have created a new level of Outlaw, a Great Many US Sovereign Citizens who consider themselves Law Abiding Up-Standing People. The TRUTH IS: ANY BAN IS UN-CONSTITUTIONAL AND THE TRUE OUTLAWS ARE THE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WHO VOTE FOR THE BAN! Maybe it’s time to install a Gallows near The Washington Monument, Staff it and post a List of Appointments for the Ban Supporters.

Public Policy Polling found that Americans hold Congress in such low esteem that only 9 percent hold a favorable view of the legislative body, according to a recent poll.

The poll found that the American people prefer lice, cockroaches, and colonoscopies, more than Congress.

If you think Fema doesn’t set up camps think again. I worked in New Orleans after Katrina as a contractor, our job was to move in and out the campers Fema provided for the population that had no where to go. They set up large scale “trailer parks” all were fenced in with barbwire around the top with armed guards at the gates. You had to show id and explain why you needed access to the site…Why would a site like this need to be fenced and secured this way for people who just needed shelter until they could get on their feet..Sad part when FEMA decided that it was your time to go, even if you had no where else to go..you were out! There was many instants where police were called to eject people with the clothes on their backs and we were told to knock the camper down and haul it out with their belongings inside! Resident was told that could drive 2+ hours to Baton Rouge to get their stuff..Most didn’t even have cars! Very sad that people of our country are treated that way…BTW as we hauled these campers out, FEMA has thousands of these units staged throughout TX,LA,MS,AL,FL, the midwest and several states in the NE…think they can’t set these up quick think again..these popped up all over LA & MS in the matter of days! Talk to anyone in those areas after Katrina and see what they tell you!

Senator Feinstein’s proposed “law” to restrict arms from everyone because some crazy guy abused the right to bear arms would constitute collective punishment, and in time of war, a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Punishing all Americans for the acts of a few also violates the principles established at Nuremburg regarding proportionality. The people punished must be the ones responsible for the offense, and the punishment must be proportional to the offense.

All gun owners are not criminals, but will be treated like criminals under Feinstein’s plan. She would presume all to be guilty because of the acts of a few people. It is similar to punishing everyone in prison because one guy escaped. And that kind of punishment is itself a crime.

So I think it is fair to label Senator Feinstein as a criminal for attempting to violate America’s civil rights through collective punishment.
