Ron Paul ends active campaigning but will continue to run for GOP

Congressman Ron Paul has announced that he will no longer be using resources to campaign in primary states, instead focusing all of his efforts on delegate-selection events as he vows to continue to vie for GOP nomination for presidential candidate.

Rep. Paul (R-Texas) issued a statement on his official website on Monday announcing that he will immediately begin to concentrate on collecting delegates at state conventions in lieu of traditional campaigning in states where he will have to compete in GOP presidential primaries.

“Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that liberty is the way of the future,” reads the statement.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

Following the bowing out of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich in recent weeks, Rep. Paul has become the most likely opponent to Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in terms of taking the GOP nomination. Both men are vying for the Republican Party’s nod so that they can challenge incumbent President Barack Obama during this November’s election.

In Monday’s statement, Paul suggests that by continuing to accumulate delegates, he stands to give Romney a run for his money come the RNC later this summer in Tampa, Florida.

Paul says he will continue to try to accumulate delegates, a strategy that has been considered unorthodox by many but has so far proved to be mostly successful.

“I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved – become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned,” says the congressman.

CNN reports that, as of April 1, the Ron Paul for President campaign has roughly $1.8 million in the bank—quite an accomplishing statistic given that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich suspended his campaign while $4.5 million in debt.

Last month Paul’s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, told reporters, “I am not going to try to deceive you, and say that Romney doesn’t have some advantages…But until he has 1,144 delegates, we are going to press on with our campaign.”

Progressives and the media’s perpetual propaganda want to promote Ron Paul for the Republican nominee, and this will make it a much easier for Obama to win. :( The media also wants the Republican ticket for Ron Paul as a President and his son Rand Paul as a vice president.

 Paul Wants to legalize drugs and gay marriage just like Obama and the Multi-Billionaires backers’ platforms, but conservatives (Republicans) are strongly against these issues.

Based on Ron Paul’s statements he is not going away until the end, and Ron Paul misled his supporters (mainly the useful idiots) that he has stopped campaigning for the White House.

In fact, Ron Paul and his multibillionaires are trying to take away ROMNEY’s DELEGATES by convincing them to vote for Ron Paul.

These delegates have to vote for Romney, because the voters of their states have voted for Romney. These delegates represents the voters’ voice, but as you know corruption often changes thing and even if it is ILLEGAL.

Clarification – I was only referring to endorsement of “gay marriage” by Obama.

:-x Representative Ron Paul are the ones who promotes both drugs and gay marriage as other Multi-Billionaires do.

Rule 38 of the Republican National Convention states, “no delegate shall be bound by any attempt of any state or Congressional district to impose the unit rule.”
the unit rule does prohibit binding delegates to vote according to how a majority of delegates from their state vote.

The legal counsel for the Republican National Convention in 2008 stated: “[The] RNC does not recognize a state’s binding of national delegates, but considers each delegate a free agent who can vote for whoever they choose.” Thus, if a delegate were to challenge his or her ability to vote as a free agent, he or she would have grounds under Rule 38.

        @ Pro Liberty,

Are you SO LOW and SO CHILDISH that you have to copy my user name. You must be so stupid that you can’t think for yourself and have to MIMIC ME (Pro Justice.) :-D

:-x Rule 38 (aka Stealing Delegates) is just a small part of the entire document. I am not a lawyer and I only speak from COMMON SENSE and MORAL STANDARDS.

:-x STEALING votes from someone else (especially someone from your own party) is not just ILLEGAL, but MORALLY WRONG.

:-x Ron Paul even said he knows he can’t win, but he wants to make a difference. Super-old Paul is nearly 80-year-old, and he needs to stay home and take care of HIMSELF and HIS SICK WIFE. Okay, he realizes he is sick and not able to be as active with his useful idiots as he would like to be, that’s no loss.

:-x A VOTE FOR RON PAUL IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA.
OBAMA CAN EASILY BEAT RON PAUL, BUT NOT ROMNEY – Unless the vote is rigged or Ron Paul can reduce Romney’s votes which will help Obama.

Here’s just another of your campaign tactics with the help of “Liberal media” for your “Liberal candidate, Ron Paul”.

          @ pro liberty,

:-x BTW, Rule 38 does not even exist. Someone just recently added or modified the document. Left-wing will try anything to manipulate things their ways.

Romney is not even aware of what Paul and his super rich backers are planning to steal his delegates at the coming Republican convention.

Super-old Paul REFUSES to support the bill which requires VOTER ID to prevent fraudulent voters; we all wonder why Paul did that???

The War on Drugs will be handled by the States.

Thats the point Ron Paul makes about the legalizing drug issues.

I think its really time for you guys to research his actual policies and you will be shocked at the truth he is revealing to us.

Also, your dollar will be crashing soon.
