Mixed marriages in Russia are Declining


The Russians were less likely to register marriages with foreigners. However, experts still managed to calculate who among the inhabitants of Earth like most Russians.

It turned out that the palm went to residents of neighboring Ukraine.

At least , evidenced by the RF Ministry of Justice data presented in the State Duma on Monday at a roundtable on international marriages. According to State Duma Deputy Speaker Nadezhda Gerasimova, opening the meeting, in 2007 Russia had concluded 68.499 thousands of mixed marriages in 2008 were played 60.627 thousands of weddings, and in the first half of 2009 – 29.317 thousand.

Still, most Russians get married with the citizens of former Soviet republics, RIA Novosti noted. During the first six months of this year in Russia there were 7.298 thousand marriages between citizens of Russia and Ukraine. In 2007 and 2008, such marriages were 18.984 thousand and 16,143 thousand respectively.

The second place among those who most often marrying Russians occupy solar residents of Armenia, which in the first half of 2009 Russians played a wedding 4,144 thousand times. Thus in 2007 there were 9,452 thousand marriages in 2008 – 8,851 thousand.

In addition, the top ten countries whose nationals bind themselves by marriage with the Russians, are Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

Of the Europeans often come to Russia to marry citizens of Germany, Great Britain, as well as the Lithuanians, Italians and French. Quite often, the Russians give their hearts to the people of Turkey, Israel, China and the United States.
