Serbia, Russia Sign Bilateral Agreements

Serbian and Russian delegations, led by their heads of state, Boris Tadic and Dmitry Medvedev, signed six agreements on bilateral cooperation at 1pm.

The agreements cover the fields of culture, science and technology, security, education, air travel and parliamentary cooperation.

The pacts are as follows:

– An agreement on the establishment of a gas storage firm, Banatski Dvor, as a joint venture between Serbia’s state-owned gas company, Srbijagas, and Russian gas giant Gazprom.

– An agreement on police cooperation between Serbia and Russia, signed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.

– A pact for cooperation on responses to humanitarian emergencies and their consequences and on the prevention of natural disasters, signed by Dacic and Russian Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu.

– An agreement in the fields of science, education, sport and youth policy, signed by Lavrov and his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic.

– An agreement on cooperation between Russia’s Kursk region and Serbian Economy and Regional Development Ministry, signed by the state secretary of the Serbian ministry, Vesna Arsic, and Kursk Governor Alexander Mikhailov.

– A treaty on cooperation between the Serbian parliament and Russian Duma, signed by Serbian Parliamentary Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and the deputy president of the Duma, Alexander Babakov.
