Rats are the most dirty creatures on the face of this planet, carriers of viruses and bacteria such as Tuberculosis and other pests that cause Dysentery. In Asia they probably have KFR instead of KFC, meaning Kentucky Fried Rat.

Destitute Indians also eat rats. Weather or not a rat is carrying diseases depends on where you get them. If they are being raised for human consumption then they would not be carrying diseases. If they are caught in the countryside they probably wouldn’t either.
Poor people do what they must to survive. This is sad.
